WEAR THIS COAT AS YOU CELEBRATE LOCAL HISTORY, THEN GO MAKE IT
STORY: Have you ever seen that tiny little street just north of the Whole Foods in Venice? Google Maps will tell you it's unnamed, but actually it is called Machado Road (look for the street sign) after the Machado brothers, Agustín and Ygnacio, who were granted the title to "Rancho La Ballona" (basically all of SM & Venice down to the Ballona wetlands) in 1839. Did you know that Tabor Ct. in Venice is named after the city's founder, Abbot Kinney's chauffeur and confidante, Irvin Tabor? A teenager when he moved across the country from Louisiana, Tabor's name is now literally embedded in our city's landscape. Did you know that Thornton over by the Boardwalk is named for Margaret Dabney Thornton, the daughter of a California Supreme Court justice, and also (conveniently) the wife of Mr. Kinney? You get the picture...
It's never too late to start making history. Snag this comfortable coat with its big dapper buttons and go make your own.
